Don’t Test the Grace
This morning, as I was getting ready and listening to a brother in Christ's devotional on grace, God gave me an analogy about grace:
Grace is like in those movies where someone is running from a killer or standing on the edge of a roof… and they fall. You think they’re dead. The whole scene makes it look like it’s over. Then they zoom out and you realize they landed in a trash can or something that caught their fall.
That’s how grace is. You fall, but you don’t die. You should’ve been taken out, but God caught you.
But here’s the part that’s really convicting: God doesn’t want us jumping off roofs on purpose just because we’re used to being caught.
We can’t live like: “God will forgive me.” “God will catch me.” “He loves me, He won’t let me die.”
That’s testing His grace.
It reminded me of when Jesus was in the wilderness and the devil told Him to jump off the cliff to prove God would save Him. Jesus said, “You shall not test the Lord your God.” (Matthew 4:5–7)
And that’s what we do sometimes — we test His grace. Not intentionally in our minds, but in our patterns. In our delayed repentance. In our “I’ll deal with it later.” In our comfort with sin.
Just don’t test his grace‼️

Thank you for this 'grac(e)'ious wisdom, Ms. Grinston! Christ's blessings to you this, and every day! Amen.
You know what I did once? Years ago. I’ve been wearing glasses since I turned twenty five and they had always bothered me a lot. So, about fifteen years ago, I was in a period of abundant grace, and I decided God will cure my eyes. Like, just because He loves me. So I removed the glasses and started walking around without them, believing my eyes will get better. The result was a horrible headache on the third day and my condition worsening so much I had to run to the hospital. With new glasses, higher prescription.
That was one of those uniquely foolish moments of young Christians, and a valuable lesson. 😊
